Outreach

The Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University has an active outreach program administered by our Outreach Coordinator and an enthusiastic team of faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students. The program is designed to increase awareness of the Earth Sciences at the elementary and secondary school levels and foster Earth Science literacy in the wider community through our Geoheritage Day and other public events. We have a wide range of programs designed to support educators seeking to bring Earth Sciences into the classroom.

We can offer the following services and support:

  • Discovering Earth Sciences: An Interactive Workshop for Teachers
  • Visit us!  A half day visit to the Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University
  • Let us visit you - We can visit your class or group with one of our prepared activities.

Other initiatives:

  • Geoheritage Day
  • Earth Science and Sports Summer Camp for 8 to 12 year olds
