Earth Sciences Graduate students receive scholarships from the KEGS Foundation

The KEGS (Canadian Exploartion Geophysical Society) Foundation awards every year scholarships directed at fostering the education of future geophysicists in Canada. For 2017-18, three graduate students from Dr. Claire Samson's research group received KEGS Foundation scholarships:

  • Chris Brown doing gravity and magnetic surveys in lava tubes
  • Carolyn Chen working on radiometric surveying using UAVs (co-supervised by Dr. Laurel Sinclair of NRCan)
  • Sara McPeak analyzing passive seismic data from a permafrost environment
