Winners of the GEM Awards for Studies in Magnetic Methods

The winners of the GEM Systems Awards for Studies in Magnetic Methods have been selected!

Alumna Lindsay Upiter (B.Sc.H. 2012, M.Sc. 2014) was awarded the Gold Award for the research she did while at Carleton on helicopter-borne triaxial magnetic gradiometry, in collaboration with Canadian Mining Geophysics Airborne. She was supervised by Dr. Claire Samson.

Current student Peter Oliver was awarded one of three Bronze Awards for his B.Sc.H. thesis research on the magnetic properties of meteorites. Peter was co-supervised by Dr. Claire Samson and Dr. Richard Ernst. He also collaborated with Dr. Phil McCausland of Western University and Dr. Gordon West of the University of Toronto.
