Professor Don Cummings Publishes New Book

Monday, October 26, 2015

Congratulations to Professor Don Cummings on his new book, The Tide-Dominated Han River Delta, Korea: Geomorphology, Sedimentology, and Stratigraphic Architecture. He is the first author listed on this new publication, which became available for purchase on Monday, October 19th. He collaborated with a Professor at Queen's University, as well as two authors based in South Korea.

This is the most detailed account of a tide-dominated delta available today. There are fewer publications available on tide-dominated deltas because they are more complex in nature than those which are wave- and river-dominated. The release of this book has made the results of years of hydrocarbon-reservoir analogue study by a team of specialists widely available. It will contribute to the advancement of many different branches of sedimentary geology.

Dr. Cummings taught various undergraduate courses for us over a two-year period, such as ERTH 1009 The Earth System Through Time, ERTH 2314 Sedimentation and Stratigraphy and ERTH 2318 Sedimentology. This year, he will be teaching at the University of Ottawa, including a highly anticipated course on Petroleum Geology at the 4th year level. He is a geological consultant based in Aylmer, Quebec.
