In September, I was a visiting researcher at the Goethe-University Frankfurt in Dr. Jens Herrle’s lab. There I learned preparation techniques for total organic carbon content (TOC) and carbon isotope stratigraphy. The research I performed in Frankfurt is part of my master’s project, as these two proxies will be combined with the foraminiferal biostratigraphy I am creating to understand how these organisms responded to the late Cretaceous greenhouse climate.
