George Dix, professor in the department of earth sciences, sat down with Adrian Harewood of CBC's All in a Day on Tuesday, January 27 to explain Ottawa's limestone building heritage in advance of his Science Cafe discussion.

The Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University offers a field-based, comprehensive education that leads to exciting summer and full-time employment. Carleton professors and students have contributed to the discovery of new mineral resources and have identified new minerals, including one discovered in 1969 at Mount St. Hilaire, Qu├ębec, now known as carletonite.
