New Zealand is renowned for the All-Blacks, wine, the Lord of the Rings movies and fields of sheep.  It is also a geological treasure-trove, including active and ancient volcanoes, hydrothermal activity, limestone caves, numerous earthquakes, and glacial fjords.  This travelogue will include visits to locations on the North and South Islands to look at the geology of New Zealand and, as a teaser, the Cook Islands.
